I’m back from Maternity Leave!

Where I’ve been

As some of you may have noticed, I haven’t posted anything new on my website for over a year now. No, I didn’t get lazy or super busy - I have been on Maternity Leave, having given birth to little Magnus in December 2016. It was very strange winding down a coaching business I’d worked so hard to build up over the past 7 years, but it was great to take a year out to look after and bond with the newest member of the family. Looking after a baby is, by far, the hardest thing I’ve ever done, that’s for sure!

As Magnus settled in to nursery a few months ago, I started to think about returning to work. Instead of offering general Life and Career Coaching, like I did before, I wanted to structure my coaching sessions in a way that offered a clear framework so that clients would know exactly what to expect from each session, and from the process as a whole. I also felt that the majority of clients were specifically looking for direction and clarity in relation to changing career, as opposed to other life challenges.

New Career Coaching Programme

As a result, I chose to consolidate and enhance my existing Career Coaching skills by training with the Firework Coaching Company in October 2017. Completing their Career Coaching training means that I can now offer a credible, structured 12-session Career Coaching programme to clients who want to start a new career but need help figuring out what their ideal career would be. A lot of the exercises and approaches are ones that I previously used as a Career Coach, but putting these, and new material, in to the proven Firework structure means that clients are now able to work through a comprehensive and thoroughly-researched coaching approach to career change.

I’m really excited to be able to now offer this programme to clients. It’s a hugely comprehensive process that allows the individual to start by getting to know their values, passions, interests, work preferences, and life purpose, before moving on to identify potential career ideas, narrowing these down to one single idea, for which an action plan is then created detailing how this compelling vision can be made a reality.

Further Details

You can find out more about this coaching programme on the Career Coaching section of my website. It’s perfect for graduates leaving university with little idea what to do next, early career-changers in their 20s and 30s who want a new career but don’t know what in, and parents returning to work who don’t want to go back to their old career but have little to no idea what they want to do instead.

I look forward to working with some of you in the near future. In the meantime, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and all the best for the New Year.
