The tug-of-war between workers and employers over returning to the office has only intensified since the end of the COVID-19 lockdowns. Employees who want the flexibility of remote work say it makes no sense to spend more time and money commuting if they can do their jobs successfully at home. Despite this, though, many employers are insisting on more in-office days, reversing previous flexible work policies.
